For the 2021/22 Formula E season opener in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, I was tasked with creating a motion graphics package for the podium stage. The imposing 60 metre wide, 15 metre tall stage was wrapped on all 3 sides in LED screens. I embraced the City Grid graphic system that had been developed for the season to create striking winner and celebration animations that took over the stage during the podium ceremonies.
In addition to the celebratory animations, I created an ambient holding loop that used the Diriyah local pattern developed by the Formula E design team - this ambient loop provided a calm backdrop during introductions and national anthems.
